Galvanized steel pipe is a pipe that has a layer of zinc coating placed onto its surface. The coating provides superior corrosion protection to the pipe, with a corrosion resistance measuring15times of an ordinary welded tube. Although some galvanized pipes can be used for interior plumbing, the majority go to the outdoor construction industry where the pipes are employed to construct fences and handrails.

Galvanized steel pipe generally takes three forms: pre-galvanized, hot-dipped, cold-dipped. Pre-galvanized steel pipe is always referred to the pipe which is made of galvanized steel coils and welded type.

The pipes which are given the galvanization treatment can be called hot-dipped galvanized steel pipe or cold-dipped galvanized steel pipe. Generally hot –dipped galvanized steel pipe is the best choice among the three types due to the thick zinc coating.

Galvanized steel pipe is generally connected by threads on either end of a length of pipe. A small amount of adhesive is typically placed on the threads before screwing them together, in order to reinforce the connection. If no threads are available, the pipes and fittings can be welded together.

  Specification and Details:

  1. Production Standards: BS1387, ASTMA53/500/123-00, EN10255/10219, GB/T13912, EN39, EN ISO 1461, DIN2391, IS2062, AS/NZ 4680

  2. Steel Material: Q195, Q235, Q345, S235/275/355, 20#, A53/106GR.B, STKR400/490, A500, ST37/44/52, IS2062/250GRADE

  3. Zinc Coating: Pre-galvanized type: 60-150g/m2

  Hot-dipped galvanized type: 200-500g/m2

  Cold-dipped galvanized type: 10-50g/ m2

  4. Section Shape: round, square, rectangular, oval and others

  5. Welding Type: seamless & welded

  6. End: plain end, beveled end, threaded end with couplings

  6. Packing: in bundles with steel strips and wrapped in nylons or as per customer's requirements

  7. Applications: structures, furniture, fencing/door, fluid transferring etc.
Galvanized steel pipe can be round tubular steel pipe, square hollow section pipe, rectangular hollow section pipe, oval-shaped steel pipe etc. And mostly the price for seamless galvanized steel pipe is higher than that of welded galvanized steel pipe.

ASTM A53 straight-weld and spiral-weld pipe are two kinds of welded steel pipe. Both options offer superior performance for a wide range of applications, which makes them some of the most popular kinds of pipe for any construction project. But, these welded steel pipes have some very fundamental differences.

The hardness expression method of API 5L seamless steel pipe has Brinell hardness (HB), Rockwell hardness (HRC), Vickers hardness (HV), Leeb hardness (HL) are four different hardness testing methods, each of which has its own unique testing principle, application range and characteristics. The following are the detailed differences between the four hardness testing methods:
