ASTM A210 Grade A1/C Seamless Carbon Steel Boiler Pipes

ASTM A210/ASME SA210 specification covers seamless medium-carbon steel boiler and superheater tubes. The specification also covers minimum-wall-thickness, tubing sizes, boiler flues including safe ends, arch and stay tubes. The specification provides tensile and hardness properties but only applicable to certain size limitations. Tubes shall be made by seamless process, marked as either hot-finished or cold-finished. Surface condition shall be specifically stated in the order. Chemical composition shall conform to the requirements. Elemental composition other than listed here shall not be permitted. Tension test, flattening test, flaring test, hardness test, hydrostatic or nondestructive electric test shall be made on specimens. Superheater tubes shall be formed without defects and shall withstand expansion, beading, forging, welding, and bending.

ASTM A210 / A210M Flattening Test
One flattening test shall be made on specimens from each end of one finished tube from each lot, but not the one used for the flaring test. Tears or breaks occurring at the 12 or 6 o’clock positions on Grade C tubing with sizes of 2.375 in. [60.3 mm] in outside diameter and smaller shall not be considered a basis for rejection.
ASTM A210 / A210M Flaring Test
One flaring test shall be made on specie- men from each end of the one finished tube from each lot, but not the one used for the flattening test.
Ordering Information
Orders for ASTM A210 / A210M, ASME SA210 should include the following, as required, to describe the desired material adequately:
Quantity (feet, meters, or number of lengths),
Grade,
Manufacture (hot-finished or cold-finished),
Size (outside diameter and minimum wall thickness),
Length (specific or random),
Optional requirements,

When these products are to be used in applications conforming to ISO Recommendations for Boiler Construction, the requirements of Specification ASTM A 520 , shall supplement and supersede the requirements of this specification.
The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system must be used independently of the other. Combining value from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the specification. The inch-pound units shall apply unless the "m" designation of this specification is specified in the order.
Note:
Mill test certificates will be issued according to EN10204.3 3.1 or 3.2
The tubes Shall be Seamless, and the testing shall be as per A 450 / A450M.
Delivery Condition:
Annealed, Normalized, Normalized and Tempered
Both ends of each crate will indicate the order no., heat no., dimensions, weight and bundles or as requested.
Surface treatment:
Oil-dip, Varnish, Passivation, Phosphating, Shot Blasting

ASTM A210 / A210M Tube Cut Length Tolerance
These permissible variations in length apply to tubes before bending. They apply to cut lengths up to and including 24 ft [7.3 m]. For lengths greater than 24 ft [7.3 m], the above over-tolerances shall be increased by 1⁄8 in. [3 mm] for each 10 ft [3 m] or fraction thereof over 24 ft or 1⁄2 in. [13 mm], whichever is the lesser.
